What is hardcore demolition waste and how is it handled?
Hardcore demolition waste often contains concrete rubble, bricks and soil which can be recycled and typically used as a road base for vehicle access in licensed areas, such as landfill cells, following thorough screening.
-
How is construction and demolition waste disposed of?
C&D waste is processed at licensed recycling facilities where recyclable materials (e.g., wood, metals, bricks, hardcore) are sorted out and recycled. Non-recyclable materials are sent to landfill. Final screenings capture smaller waste fractions and ensure any recyclable hardcore is repurposed.
-
Who is responsible for construction waste disposal?
The legal responsibility for disposing of construction waste rests with the business generating it. If your company is involved in construction or demolition, it is required by law to ensure all waste is safely removed and properly disposed of.
