What is hardcore demolition waste and how is it handled?
After screening the recycled hardcore is used as a road base for vehicle access in the permitted (licenced) areas such as the landfill cell.
-
How is construction and demolition waste disposed of?
Construction and demolition (C&D) waste is taken to licensed recycling facility and sorted to remove the larger recyclable waste fractions (wood, metals, bricks, hardcore etc) and to remove the non-recyclable elements for disposal to landfill. The remaining waste is then screened to remove final smaller waste fractions (fines) and to capture the remaining recycled hardcore.
