Easy, sustainable metal recycling
Metal doesn’t lose strength or durability over time and can be recycled indefinitely without losing its key qualities. In addition, recycling metal uses significantly less energy than mining and releases less harmful greenhouse gases, making it a far more environmentally friendly option.
We can collect metal waste from your site and arrange for it to be recycled at fully licensed recycling facilities where it’s melted down and re-made into anything from cans to cars.

Frequently asked questions
-
Which metals are recyclable?
In the UK, the most popular recycled metals by weight are iron and steel, but almost all metals are, in fact, recyclable.
Among the most commonly recycled metals are:
- Aluminium
- Brass
- Bronze
- Cast Iron
- Copper
- Steel
- Tin
The separation of metals does have an element of effort versus gain but the gain can be high, especially with metals that have a high market rate. It is always worth talking to us to see if your metal waste can be separated and offered for recycling.
-
What is metal waste and how is it handled?
Metal products can become waste simply by their current form being no longer useful (such as steel supports for buildings damaged during demolition), or from being part of a larger whole that is no longer needed.
Because metal is easily reusable it is almost always separated at source, not least because of the scrap value of metal waste at the metal merchant.
-
What is not included in metal waste?
It is possible to send metal waste to specialist metal merchants where it is not 100% metal. Exceptions might be for example white goods items such as washing machines which would need to be treated as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Where accepted the non-metal parts are separated and reprocessed (if possible), such as plastics or glass.
-
Is Metal Recycling Environmentally Friendly?
Recycling metal uses significantly less energy than it would do to mine the same quantity of metal from the ground, and results in no loss of strength or durability of the metal during the process, making it by far the most environmentally friendly option.
-
Can Aerosol cans be recycled?
Aerosols cans are made from recyclable metals and are commonly recycled across the UK.
It is incredibly important that aerosol cans are fully emptied when sent for recycling, as a partially full can runs the risk of exploding when exposed to heat.
